WRC 2026 Rally Finland — Neuville Masters the Forests, Reclaims Championship Lead
Hyundai dominant at the 132 km/h average-speed cathedral. Ogier salvages third; gap narrows to six points
Thierry Neuville won Rally Finland, held July 10–13, 2026, in dominant fashion to reclaim the drivers' championship lead. Two weeks after his double puncture at the Acropolis cost him dearly, the Belgian returned to the fastest event on the WRC calendar — and the fastest event suited him perfectly.
The forests outside Jyväskylä rewrote the championship landscape. Neuville posted the fastest or second-fastest time through every stage from day one, controlling the event with authority. Elfyn Evans in the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 mounted the closest challenge, briefly reducing the gap to 2.1 seconds on Saturday before Neuville responded with two stages of dominant pace, eventually winning by 38.7 seconds.
