INRC 2026 Frontline — India's Booming Rally Scene and the Ambitions of a New Generation
The INRC expands to six rounds this season. Rapid automotive industry growth is channelling sponsor money into Indian rally competition
The Indian National Rally Championship has expanded to six rounds in 2026, opening in Goa. With Tata and Mahindra accelerating their motorsport investment, competition for young driving talent is intensifying across the country.
The Indian rally scene underwent rapid transformation in the first half of the 2020s. The INRC, which once centred on south Indian tarmac rallies, added a new northern round incorporating gravel stages in the Ladakh region this season, significantly expanding surface diversity. Total season entries rose 31 percent against 2023, with a record 78 cars on the entry list.
