North America's off-road racing scene has reached record highs in 2026 in both entries and viewership. SCORE International, with the Baja 1000 as its pinnacle, and Ultra4 — the celebration of heavily modified four-wheel-drive machinery — together define the current landscape. The Baja 1000, organised by SCORE International and held each November across the Baja California Peninsula, is the world's longest off-road race. The 2026 edition ran a 1,342-kilometre route and set an all-time entry record of 327 vehicles. The performance gap between production-based classes and the Unlimited categories continues to widen: Trophy Truck Unlimited competitors now routinely average in excess of 150 kilometres per hour across the full course.
