The inaugural FIA Rallycross World Cup will be held December 5–6, 2026 at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit in the Ancol district of North Jakarta. In the same year the World Rallycross Championship was dissolved and relaunched as Euro RX, the FIA has moved quickly to establish an entirely new form of world-level event — and has placed it in Southeast Asia. Organisers are targeting a two-day audience of up to 60,000.
Rallycross has long sought a foothold in Asia. During the WRX era, proposals to bring rounds to Japan and elsewhere in the region were discussed but never realised — blocked by the absence of dedicated rallycross facilities and the gap between European and Asian motorsport cultures. The solution chosen now is to convert an E-Prix circuit: a tarmac urban course that can be adapted with a gravel section and jumps to create a rallycross layout.
