A genre of its own, separate from motorsport: shops, workshops, farms, makers and companies from any country. Each one we introduce has its own page, with the introduction written in 23 language versions.

  🇮🇳 India — Meeran Art & Crafts

  Handicrafts

In Channapatna, Karnataka — a town whose name means Toy Town — Meeran Art & Crafts has been turning and lacquering wooden toys since 1946. Three generations of one family still make them the same way. The colour goes on while the piece is still spinning, and the shavings are not swept away: they are collected and become incense.
